SHUT UP!

"Peruvian dog lovers say they have the ideal pet for US President-elect Barack Obama and his family - a bald breed that was once favoured by Inca rulers."

I will legit pee my pants if the Obama dog is a bald one. Obviously, no offense to the Peruvians, but really?

Ready to Wear? To Where!?

Fanfare

"Al Gore never claimed that he invented the Internet. Howard Dean didn’t scream. Hillary Clinton didn’t say she was staying in the race because Barack Obama might be assassinated. And Wesley Clark didn’t impugn John McCain’s military service."

Paul Krugman always seems to be one beat ahead of the avante garde political pulse, and he has done it again with this opinion piece in the NY Times. Does McCain equal a committment to Rovian communication strategy? He makes a valid point, and if anything, this should motivate you to give your time and dollars to the democratic campaign.

Yes, I was an avid Hilary girl, but I am not stupid. I am all Obama all the time now.
Jump on!

Ps. Paul Krugman, I love you.

Last year was the pinnacle of my concert career, and I am distraught that this year I won´t be able to attend. Sigh, the.best.lineup.of.all.time.

News Hour: Zimbabwe

Seriously.

With 900% inflation in Zimbabwe, the pending elections would be comical if they weren´t so tragic. According to the BBC, the March 29th elections were the most peaceful since 1999, though withthe rampant violence that has ensued, it is hard to feel reassured in this assessment.
By all accounts, the election to be held in the next three weeks is no beacon of hope and with 28 years of power behind him, it is hard to imagine that Mugabe will step down despite speculationeven if the polls dictate it a wise choice. Tsvangirai is a favorite, but without intervention from South Africa or another neigbouring power (wait, other...!?), it is doubltful that the political powerhouse that is Mugabe will be packing boxes in the imminent future.
